Obituary for Frank W. Pado

FRANK W. PADO, 88, of Oak Street, Ext., Dalton, passed away peacefully in
his home surrounded by family on Saturday afternoon, May 30th.
Frank was born in Chicago on February 13, 1921, to Tomasz and Rosalia
Sroka Pado. A few months after his birth, the family emigrated from the United States
to Poland where he was raised in Rzeszow. He worked as a mason until returning to the
United States in 1961 with his wife and three daughters, settling in Dalton.
Frank retired from Beloit after 19 years of dedicated service.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and was a member of Dalton
Seniors for over 20 years.
He enjoyed cooking, wine-making, gardening, playing the harmonica, and being
outdoors. But Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his family, sharing stories
from his life and proudly passing on his Polish traditions. Married in 1944, Frank was pre-deceased by his wife of 49 years, Sophie
Dziedzic Pado, who passed away in 1993. He sadly left his three daughters, Wadja
Gorleau and her husband Francis of Dalton, Mary Benad and her husband Robert of
Rocky Mountain, Missouri, and Stasia Frederick and her husband Donald of Victor,
New York. Frank is survived by his seven grandchildren, Emily and her husband,
James Hurley, James Groleau and his wife, Lisa, Jeremy Elser and his wife, Amanda,
Steven Elser and his wife, Monica, Ilona, Amanda, and Alisha Frederick, who are
grateful to have called him their Dziadziu. He was also blessed with great grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Sam, Charlie, Rose, Sophie, Addison and James. Frank was
pre-deceased by his brothers, Fr. Michal, Fr. Wladek, John, Joseph, and Stashu Pado,
and sister, Mary Gliwski. He is survived by one sister, Josefa Panek.
