Obituary for Frank D'Agostino
Francesco “Frank” Domenico D’Agostino passed away peacefully with his children by his side on February 6, 2021 at the age of 89.
Frank was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on August 26,1931. He was the son to the late Maria Scopelliti D’Agostino and Domenico Francesco D’Agostino.
He married Janet Bassett on September 10, 1960. After 60 years of marriage, she predeceased him on January 2, 2021.
Frank was a proud union member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenter’s Local 336, retiring after 65 years of service. His career accomplishments included the construction of Pittsfield High School and the Altresco Cogeneration Plant.
He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, Italian music, horse racing, playing cards, and having monthly breakfasts with his friends. He was an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Frank leaves behind his seven beautiful children: Holly Pignatelli and her partner Dave of Lenox, MA; Stacy Nash and her husband TJ of Lanesborough, MA; Dominic D’Agostino and his wife Tracey of Pittsfield, MA; Marcy Gaul of Lee, MA; Betsy D’Agostino and her wife Annette of Pittsfield, MA; Frank D’Agostino and his wife Cathy of Pittsfield, MA; and Mike D’Agostino of Pittsfield, MA. He also leaves behind his adoring eight grandchildren: Travis, Anah, Scott, Austin, Matthew, Krista, Casey, and Megan and his precious great-grandchildren: Colton, Emily, Nolan, and Hayden; as well as his sister Angela Lyon of Pittsfield, MA and his brother Anthony D’Agostino of Pittsfield, MA.
He especially cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, celebrated by Rev. John Tuohey, Administrator. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice Care of the Berkshires or Pittsfield Chapter of UNICO in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
