Obituary for Frank J. "Junior" Carnute Sr.

Frank John "Junior" Carnute, Sr., 86, of Greendale Avenue, Pittsfield, died at his home on
Wednesday, March 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving and caring family.
Born in Pittsfield on July 22, 1930, the son of Frank P. and Mary Calabrase Carnute, he
was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Carnute was employed by General Electric Company where he was a painter for
32 years. He also worked in the family restaurant, Carnute's Diner, on West Housatonic Street.
The joy of Mr. Carnute's life was his family. He loved being on the road and enjoyed
going to flea markets in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.
Mr. Carnute's wife, the former Theresa Rose Salvatore, whom he married December 31,
1949, celebrated 63 years of marriage on New Year's Eve 2012. Their love began more than 77
years earlier as they walked hand and hand to school every day. Mrs. Carnute died on February
1, 2013.
He is survived by four sons, Frank J. Carnute, Jr. (and his wife Dolores), Rocco E. Carnute,
Richard M. Carnute, and Gary P. Carnute, all of Pittsfield; three daughters, Yvonne Fiske (and
her husband, Cal) of Chatham, N.Y., Kathy A. Satrape of Pittsfield, and Theresa Carnute (and her
longtime companion, Paul Ketcham) of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren Gina (Todd) Aquillo,
Ronnie (Missy) Lucaroni, Nichole Satrape, Renee Lucaroni, Lori Carnute, Anthony
Carnute, Timothy Carnute, Jamie Carnute, and Frankie Baldassare; 17 great grandchildren, Mia,
Ryan, Heather, Dominique, Toni, Emiliano, Dante, Giovanni, Ky, K'Aunte, Jamari, Mila,Meadow,
Carmine, Coby, Nikolas, and Nikolo; and one great great grandson, Logan Lucaroni; as well
as a brother, Michael Carnute of Pittsfield, and a sister, Jenny Carnute, of Farmington, Conn.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, John and Patrick; and four sisters, Adelaide,
Caroline, Frances, and Patricia; and by a grandson, Nikolas S. Carnute.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Frank John Carnute, Sr. will be held Monday, March 27, 2017, at 9:15
AM from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Mark
Church concelebrated by Rev. David E. Aufiero, Administrator, and Rev. William P. Murphy,
nephew of Mr. Carnute. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be
Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, in care of the funeral
home.
