Obituary for Francis R. Tremblay

FRANCIS RAYMOND TREMBLAY, 80, of 31 Lyman Street, Becket, died
Sunday, April 5, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Becket, October 5, 1928, the son of Eldore and Lenora Cumberland
Tremblay, he graduated from Chester High School.
A World War II veteran, he served with the United States Army from September
13, 1946 to January 14, 1948.
Mr. Tremblay was employed Courtland Grinding and then as a Quality Control
Inspector at the former Bendix Abrasives where he worked 30 years retiring in 1982.
He also worked part-time at the Becket Transfer Station. Mr. Tremblay was a fireman with the Becket Volunteer Fire Department. He
was a train enthusiast, a Boston Red Sox fan, and he enjoyed reading.
His wife, the former Gloria Meiers, whom he married November 16, 1946,
died May 12, 2005.
Mr. Tremblay is survived by a son, Keith A. Tremblay and his wife, Judy, of
Becket; a son-in-law, Don Hauser of Peru; and two grandchildren, Greta Cullett and
her husband, Bruce, of Peru, and Gregory Hauser and his wife, Meghan, of Charlotte,
North Carolina.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Nancy Hauser, who died December 1,
2007.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for FRANCIS RAYMOND TREMBLAY, who died Sunday, April 5,
will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory
of Mr. Tremblay may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of DERY-FOLEY
FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
