Obituary for Francis J. Jacques

Francis (Frank) Jacques passed away at home, August 11, 2022, surrounded by his family and friends, as per his wishes.

Frank was born on October 4, 1936. His parents were Ester and Hector Jacques.

Frank lived a very full 86 years of life. In his early years Frank rode horses, rode his Indian motorcycle, worked on cars, and loved taking risks on the Mountain Park roller coasters with his childhood friend Al Stokes. Frank loved wood working, playing guitar and singing, telling stories and jokes (sometimes a little colorful.)

It was really important for Frank to be able to support his family. He drove tractor trailers up and down the east coast, worked for Wonder Bread bakery in Holyoke, MA, until he was transferred to the distribution center in Pittsfield, MA, on Dalton Ave. He was their shipper for 25 years. He made sure all the delivery trucks were stocked for their deliveries. He made many good friends there over the years.

He is survived by Theresa (Chagnon) Jacques his loving wife of 55 years; his sons, Michael Rockwell and Diane of Texas, John Jacques and Amy of NY, Philip Jacques and Season of NC. Daughters, Arlene Rockwell and her companion Ernie of MA, Nina Castonguay of MA, Debra Barbieri of VT, and Lisa Butler and Kevin of MA. He was also a loving Grandpa, Grammypa and Papa to 13 grandchildren (1 deceased), 2 great grandchildren and one on the way.

He will be loved and miss by many. His family would like to thank our extended family and friends for their support and their good neighbors Al and Sharon Stubbs and their landlord/friends, Frank and Tina DeBaggis for their help and looking out for Dad and Mom. We would also like to thank the great team at Hospice, especially his nurse Tammy for taking such great care of him. Also, Father Mike and David the Chaplain for their support.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Mr. Jacques will be held, Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA. Services will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to a charity of the donor’s choice – in care of the funeral home.
