Francis Hollis Dillard, Jr., 83, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away December 4, 2020 at Hillcrest Commons, where he has resided for the last two years.
Born in Pittsfield, MA on October 25, 1937, he was the son of Francis H. Dillard Sr., and May E. Hamilton, Dillard.
He was educated in Pittsfield Schools and was a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Dillard married the former Clara-Ellen Todd on October 3, 1958 in Williamstown, MA.
He worked for General Electric Company from 1971 in the Transformer Department in Pittsfield and Schenectady, NY, retiring in 2000. He also worked at Yankee Atomic Plant in Vermont in 1958.
Mr. Dillard was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed street rods and built his own 1931 Chevy and 1935 Chevy truck. He also took pleasure in fishing and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Clara-Ellen Dillard of Pittsfield; three sons, Francis H. Dillard, III, Frank A. Dillard and Mark A. Dillard, all of Pittsfield; four daughters, Lori A. Clifton and husband David of Harrisburg, PA, Holly A. Dillard of Pittsfield, Rachel R. Dupont and husband Steve of Pittsfield, and Rebecca L. Dillard of Pittsfield; two sisters, Pauline Todd and husband Timothy of Ludlow, MA, and Julie Dillard of Fairfax, VA; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. As well as his beloved cat, Cupcake.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie and Jerry Dillard and his sister, Elizabeth Byrd.
