Obituary for Francesca Dill

Mrs. Francesca Dill, 83, of 96 Anthony Road, Dalton, Ma. died Friday evening, March 23, 2007 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born on September 20, 1923 in Naples, Italy a daughter of the late Salvatore and Ines D'Acquisto. She attended Italian schools and came to the United States in 1946 settling in Dalton, Ma. From 1968 until 1972 she was a clothing buyer for the former Southwick Dress Shop on South St. in Pittsfield. For many years she was a editor for the former Buttenheim Publishing Company in Pittsfield. During World War II in Naples, Italy she was involved with the US Army Air Corp as a communications specialist with a code name of Spinner. She married Garvey Roy Dill on June 12, 1945 in Naples, Italy, he died May 30, 1997, and she made her wedding gown from parachute silk. She was a world traveler and enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, needle craft and crafts and had been involved with the former Extension Services in Dalton and Pittsfield for many years. She was a communicant of Saint Agnes Church. She is survived by a son, Gary R. Dill of Dalton, Ma. A daughter, Sandra L. Dill of Gloucester, Ma. A Brother, Sandro D'Acquisto of Naples, Italy. A Sister, Erminia Morace of Toronto, Canada.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Francesca D'Acquisto Dill who died March 23, 2007 will be held Monday, April 2, 2007 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Agnes Church in Dalton, Ma. celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will be private at Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton, Ma. There are no calling hours. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials in her memory be made to the Beckman Macular Research Center of
The Doheny Eye Institute (Los Angeles, California) in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St. Dalton, Ma. 01226 which is handling arrangements. Mrs. Dill is also survived by her daughter in law, Sherry Goodkowsky.
