Obituary for Florine Gillyard

FLORINE 'NAN' GILLYARD, 68, of 117 Dewey Avenue, Pittsfield, died Saturday evening, November 1, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Tifton, Georgia, February 29, 1940, a daughter of Lee and Isabelle Kiegler Keaton, she was educated in Bridgeville, Delaware, schools.
Mrs. Gillyard was employed by General Electric Company for twenty two years retiring in 1990.
She was a member of Reigning Love Church.
Mrs. Gillyard is remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, the home shopping channels and bargain shopping, and all types of music and writing. She had several collections of angels and antiques.
She leaves her husband, Preston Gillyard, to whom she was married for more than fifty years.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Gillyard is survived by a son, Preston Lee Gillyard of
Pittsfield; six daughters, Barbara J. Keaton of Pittsfield, Betty Pinkston of Pittsfield,
Izzy Gillyard of Pittsfield, Ola Gillyard-Davis of Pittsfield, Paula McKinley of Pittsfield,
and Yvette Fowlkes-Brogden of Frederick, Maryland; a sister, Ola M. Jolicoeur of
Pittsgrove, New Jersey; two chosen daughters, Angela Armstrong of Kingston, New
York, and Raya Brower of Pittsfield; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren,
nieces, and nephews.
Mrs. Gillyard was pre-deceased by a son, Alphonso Gillyard, late of Delaware;
a brother, Lee Keaton late of Pittsgrove, New Jersey, and a sister, Louise Thomas late
of Lysol, New York.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services of FLORINE 'NAN' GILLYARD, who died Saturday,
November 1, will be Friday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Reigning Love Church,
with Rev. Philip Thurmond, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gillyard may be made to the
American Cancer Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
