Obituary for Florence K. Alderman

Mrs. Florence Alderman, 86, of 291 New Windsor Road, Hinsdale, Ma. Died Monday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a short illness. Born on February 16, 1920 in Berlin, New York a daughter of the late Frank J. Jones Sr. and Catherine M. Dunn Jones. She attended schools in New York State and was a 1939 graduate of Berlin Central School. Primarily a homemaker, she had worked at the General Electric Company during World War II. She was a past member of the Hinsdale Grange. For many years she made and sold Christmas decorations and Christmas Trees from her home in Hinsdale. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the wife of Donald L. Alderman Sr. whom she married on August 31, 1939; he died September 19, 1997. She leaves two sons, Donald L. Alderman, Jr. and Richard A. Alderman both of Hinsdale, Ma. A daughter, Rosemary Graf of Cummington, Ma. A Sister, Alice Hodges of Petersburg, New York. And three grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Florence Jones Alderman who died February 5, 2007 will be held in the spring at Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale, Ma. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials in her memory may be made to the Hinsdale Ambulance or to Hinsdale Fire Dept. both in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME 890 East Main St. Dalton, Ma. Which is handling arrangements. Mrs. Alderman is lovingly survived by her three grandchildren, David A., Daniel A. and Lynn M. Alderman, also by a daughter in law, Helen Zaleski Alderman, a son in law, Ken Graf and brother in law Byron Hodges. She was predeceased by a daughter in law, Eileen F. Baumann Alderman, by three brothers, Arthur D. Jones, Frank J. Jones, Jr. and Harry W. Jones and by three sisters, Ethel M. Oliver, Emily L. Jandrow and Grace D. DeFelice.
