Obituary for Filomena Bilotta

FILOMENA BILOTTA, 99, of 83 Curtis Avenue, Dalton, died Tuesday, January
13, at Curtis Manor where she had resided for the past six years.Born in Cairano, Province of Avellino, Italy, on February 18, 1909, the daughter of Luigi and Maria Teresa Arace, she was educated in Italian schools. She came to the
United States on April 30, 1960, settling in Pittsfield.
Mrs. Bilotta was a homemaker. She had, at one time, worked at the Stratton Coat
Factory and at the Yellow Aster restaurant.
She was a member of Christian Assembly Church. She enjoyed cooking, especially her homemade Italian pasta and bread, knitting, and being with her family.
Her husband, Leone Bilotta, whom she married February 9, 1931, in Cairano,
Italy, died September 20, 1995.
Mrs. Bilotta leaves three sons, Giuseppe Bilotta and his wife, Marie, of Pittsfield;
Lou Bilotta and his wife, Susanne, of Pittsfield; Donato Bilotta and his wife, Darla, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Giuseppina Ruberto of Pittsfield; 12 grandchildren, Lidia Lee,
Lisa Bilotta, Leone Bilotta, Antonio Bilotta, Juliana Bilotta, Amy Najimy, David Bilotta,
Mark Bilotta, Pasquale Ruberto, Lina Leskovitz, Leo Ruberto, and Diana Szewczyk; 20
great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.
She was pre-deceased by her three brothers, Leone, Andrew, and Michelangelo Arace; her sister, Maria Antonia Mescia; her son-in-law, Michael Ruberto; and a sister-in-law, Michelina Arace.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for FILOMENA BILOTTA, who died Tuesday, January 13,
will be Friday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Joseph
Nieves, Pastor of Christian Assembly Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield
Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Bilotta may be made to Curtis Manor
or to Christian Assembly Church Food Pantry both in care of the Funeral Home, 54
Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
