Obituary for Fernand Roy
Fernand Roy age 82, died Saturday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a three year battle with respiratory disease. He was born in Quebec, Canada in 1926 and moved to the U.S. at the age of fourteen.
Mr. Roy worked most of his life for Lipton Energy, formerly Pittsfield Iron Works, as a master steamfitter. He enjoyed his work and loved his family and life dearly and bravely.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mary Roy. They lived on Lebanon Avenue in Pittsfield for most of their married Life. Mr. Roy also leaves a son and daughter-in-law: Donald an Elissa Roy of Lenox; a daughter: Rain Roy of Pittsfield; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for FERNARD ROY, who died Saturday, September 5, will be
Monday, September 14, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino,
Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday,
from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
memory of Mr. Roy may be made to St. Mark Food Pantry in care of the Funeral Home,
54 Bradford Street.
Mr. Roy leaves his wife, the former Mary Belli; a son, Donald Roy and his wife,
Elissa of Lenox; a daughter, Rain Roy of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Jessyka Hawkom,
Megan Wannamaker, Brandon Roy, Ava Roy; and four great grandchildren, Kendall
Hawkom, Alex Hawkom, Avery Hawkom, and Olivia Karbott.
