Obituary for Eugene L. Vidoli

Eugene L. Vidoli, 81, of 55 Wealthy Avenue, Pittsfield, died Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on November 7, 1951, a son of Arthur and Mildred Bodine Vidoli, he was educated in Bridgeport and Pittsfield schools, and was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Korean War veteran, he enlisted with the United States Navy on February 6,
1952, served nearly a year overseas, and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1953.
He was first employed at General Electric Company, then for Hamilton Standard, Beloit Corporation, and Sheaffer-Eaton.
Mr. Vidoli was then appointed Director of Maintenance for the City of Pittsfield, serving under Mayors Wojtkowski, Doyle, and Hathaway from where he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Italian-American Club and the Berkshire Hills Country
Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, golfing, boating, and playing cards.
Mr. Vidoli leaves his wife, the former, Jane A. Marri, whom he married September 11, 1954, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael E. Vidoli and his wife, Theresa, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Donna M. Vidoli of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Maria Vidoli, Christina Vidoli, and Cathleen Vidoli, and three great grandchildren, Taylor Vidoli, Amelia, Vidoli, and Jocelyn Gromacki.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, Edward Vidoli.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Eugene Lewis Vidoli are private. There are no calling hours.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of
Mr. Vidoli may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or to the Alzheimer's
Association both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
