Obituary for Esther "Jan" Campagna
Esther “Jan” Campagna,94, of Dodge Ave Pittsfield, MA, passed peacefully in her home on Saturday morning January 9, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Fanny Makela and John McIntyre. Jan was born August 13, 1926 in Woonsocket, RI.
She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and Bryant College where she received a degree in Accounting. She was a Sorority Sister with Beta Sigma Phi.
She met her loving husband, the late Ernest Campagna shortly after graduating. They married on June 24, 1950 and settled in Pittsfield, MA.
Jan taught Shorthand at Pittsfield High School and was also an Accountant Professor at Berkshire Community College.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also enjoyed sewing, crosswords, countless hours gardening and was an avid skier.
She was a loving wife and mother of two sons, Donald J. Campagna and his wife, Karen, of Lenox Ma, and Gary A. Campagna and his wife, Thelma, of Pittsfield, MA; six grandchildren, Kristin and her husband, Devin Marr, of Westford, MA, Alex Campagna of Lenox, MA., Brittney, and her husband, Fernando Pescador, of San Antonio, TX., Kyle Pereira, of Holyoke, MA., Tyler Pereira, and his partner Kimberly Conant of Lanesborough, MA., Nicole Campagna of Pittsfield, MA., two great-grandchildren Ava Marr, of Westford, MA., and Nora Pescador, of San Antonio, TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be private with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 0120.
