Obituary for Erika Marie Wood
Erika Marie Wood, 50 of Pittsfield, passed away March 27th at Berkshire Medical Center with her family by her side after an acute brain injury. Born in Pittsfield on Aug 22, 1973, the daughter of Kenneth and Kathleen (Geary) Wood.
Erika was a graduate of Pittsfield Public Schools. The eldest of her 4 siblings, she was a natural caregiver. Always willing to provide, support, and help all of those around her.
She is survived by her children Eric Honiker and Shelby Honiker (Ryan) of Pittsfield. Sisters Lisa Caesar of Dorchester, Caitlin Banister of Pittsfield, Jenna Wood of NY, and brother Paul Banister of Pittsfield. She leaves behind her beloved grandsons Landon and River Holsborg.
Erika also leaves behind her maternal grandmother Pauline Theoret and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Kathleen (Geary) Wood and paternal grandmother Elizabeth “Betty” Wood.
The family of Erika would like to thank the entire staff at Berkshire Medical Center’s critical care unit, Dr. Hafez Alsmaan for his tender loving care, and the staff with New England Donor Services. Erika left this world giving hope and life to others by donating her organs. Taking care of others as she always has until the very end.
Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
