Obituary for Emma A. Lawson

Emma Aldea Lawson, age 91, of 187 East Street, Pittsfield, died MONDAY, May 27, 2013 at home. She was born on January 30, 1922 in North Adams, MA, the daughter of the late Hubert and Aldea Landry. She was educated in Adams schools and the Notre Dame School in Adams.
Primarily a homemaker, Emma kept busy as a seamstress working from her home.
She attended Reigning Love Church where she enjoyed her church family and services.
Emma was young-at-heart. She loved playing with all her grandchildren, doing things, such
as making forts, playing soccer, and having a good pillow fight.
She enjoyed her camp at Lake St. Catherine and visiting her sister in Florida. She also enjoyed
dancing and singing, tag sales, reading, puzzles, and the movies.
Mrs. Lawson married Harold A. Lawson on September 26, 1940; he pre-deceases her.
Mrs. Lawson is survived by her two daughters: Jean C. Lawson, with whom she had lived, and Laurel Lawson and her husband Paul of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren: Laura, Jessica, and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren: Samuel, Joseph, Zophia, and Zachery.

FUNERAL NOTICE
Calling hours for Emma Aldea Lawson will be held SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. All are invited to a Going Home Celebration for Emma Lawson at 11:30 AM at the REIGNING LOVE CHURCH, 235 East Street, Pittsfield with Rev. Phillip Thurmond, Pastor, officiating; a reception will follow. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to House of Dreams in care of
DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
