Obituary for Emma Labrie

Mrs. Emma LaBrie, 88, of 87 Deming Street in Pittsfield died Saturday at home. Born on July 8, 1920 in Lenox, MA she was a daughter of the late Luigi and Cecelia Antonangeli. A lifelong resident of Pittsfield, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married her husband, the late Edison J. LaBrie on January 1, 1940. He died on October 12, 1989. Mrs. LaBrie was employed as a waitress at the Country Club of Pittsfield for thirty years retiring in 1993. Emma, "Gram", enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and gardening. Emma was a friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by all. She leaves two sons; Joseph E. LaBrie of Hallandale, FL and James E. LaBrie and his wife Susan of Pittsfield. Three daughters; Judith A. McKnight and her husband Richard of Lanesboro, Emma D. Connors and her husband Daniel of Pittsfield and Deborah J. LaBrie of Hallandale, FL. She also leaves a brother; Louis Antonangeli of Pittsfield and two sisters; Anna Costanzo and Rose Galvagni both of Pittsfield. She will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren; Daniel Connors, Timothy, Richard and Susan McKnight and Danielle LaBrie and by her six great grandchildren; Kasey, Daniel and Erin Connors and Brittany, Lexi and Ava McKnight. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Connors and by two brothers; Alfred and Richard Antonangeli. She was also predeceased by three sisters; Assunta Del Core, Lena Casey and Helen McKinnon.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Emma LaBrie of Pittsfield who died October 25, 2008 will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield conducted by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dery Funeral Home. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. LaBrie may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201.
