Obituary for Elyssa Griffin-Jerome

Elyssa Griffin-Jerome of 39 Country Road, Hinsdale, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at
her home. Born in Pittsfield, the daughter of Harold and Barbara Thompson Sykes, she was a
graduate of Chatham High School. Mrs. Griffin-Jerome was employed by the Berkshire County ARC for twenty-seven years. She had also worked as a chef and had been an Emergency Medical Technician in New York State. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening and planting flowers, owning and riding horses, and visiting the ocean. She leaves her husband, Carl A. Jerome, whom she married in August 2003. Mrs. Griffin-Jerome is also survived by a daughter, Colleen Genovesi and her husband, Robert, of Rehoboth, Mass.; two sons, Richard Griffin, Jr. of Pittsfield, and Timothy Griffin of Pittsfield; a sister, Marylou Talora and her husband, Giuseppe, of Pittsfield; and four granddaughters, Melissa Genovesi, Stacey Genovesi, Shannon Griffin, and Alyssa Griffin, along with a niece Gretchen Miller.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Elyssa Griffin-Jerome will be held Wednesday, January 7, at 12:00 Noon at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with Rev. William D. Furey, Pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire Union Chapel in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
