Obituary for Elvie Olive Deming

Elvie Olive Deming, 75, formerly of Lanesborough and Pittsfield, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Craneville Place of Dalton.
Born in Lanesborough on September 9, 1940, she was the daughter of Charles H., a direct descendant of Sarah Deming, and Helen H. Horton Deming, who during World War II,
helped with protection in Lanesborough working on the ambulance squad.
She was educated in Lanesborough and Pittsfield schools and was a 1959 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She continued her education and graduated from the Penn View Bible Institute in Penns Creek, Pennsylvania on May 28, 1973.
Miss Deming was first employed by Goodwill Industries where she was a cashier for
six years. In 1966, she went to work for the former Hillcrest Hospital where she was a house-
keeper until her retirement in 1985.
Miss Deming was a communicant of Pilgrim Holiness Church. She enjoyed reading and loved animals.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Charles L. Deming, and a sister, Isabelle Maulden.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Elvie Olive Deming will be held Monday, March 14, at 11:00 a.m., at
DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with Rev. Stephen Smith, Pastor of Pilgrim Holiness Church,
officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Holiness Church in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
