Obituary for Elmer Ellis Dawley

ELMER ELLIS 'BUD" DAWLEY, 89, of Rose Manor, Pittsfield, died Monday, June 29, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, June 7, 1920, the son of Clinton and Hazel Ousterhaut Dawley,
he attended Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Dawley was employed by General Electric Company where he was a fabricator. He retired in the early 1980s with more than 42 years service. He previously worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps.
An avid golfer, Mr. Dawley had won nine times in father-son tournaments, scored 13 holes in one over the course of his career, and shot or beat his age for the last ten years.
He had also played baseball for the Polish-American team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and snowmobiling and four-wheeling.
Mr. Dawley's wife, the former Elizabeth I. Dimitropolis, died December 29, 1994.
He is survived by a son, John C. Dawley of Lenox, and a daughter, Sandra A.
Alfonso of Pittsfield; two sisters, Eleanor Granger of Pittsfield, and Patricia Coudert of Missouri; seven grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a great granddaughter, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved granddaughter, Jadene M. Alfonso, as well as a brother, Clinton Dawley, and a sister, Barbara Killeen.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ELMER ELLIS 'BUD' DAWLEY, who died Monday, June
29, will be Thursday, July 2, at 9:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Msgr.
Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating. Burial will follow in
Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 1, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at
the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Dawley may be
made to the Jadene Awareness Fund, P.O. Box 462, Lanesboro, MA 01237.
