Obituary for Elizabeth Rea Lear
Elizabeth Rea Lear, 87, of River Birch Lane, Dalton, died September 27, 2022.
Born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, on August 4, 1935, daughter of Edgar Rea and Margaret Supplee Swarner. She was a 1953 graduate of Downingtown High School.
Mrs. Lear was a homemaker, telephone operator and worked in the business office of a medical clinic. She was very active in her church, including teaching Sunday school for 12 years.
Rea enjoyed interior decorating, hiking, canoeing, camping, gardening and all of nature. She was a generous and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Lear leaves her husband of 65 years, Donald Rand Lear. She is also survived by a daughter, Cindy Lear (husband, David Harrison), of Dalton; a son Randy (wife Tammy) Lear of Roseville, California; and two grandchildren, Jack Lear and Megan Lear.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Elizabeth R. Lear will be held Saturday, October 1st at 10:00am at First Congregational Church of Dalton with Rev. Quentin Chin officiating.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, Inc. in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
