Obituary for Elizabeth F. Lanphear

Elizabeth F. Lanphear, 81, of 206 Narragansett Avenue, Lanesborough, a longtime resident of
Pittsfield, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Hillcrest Commons.
Born in Pittsfield on May 27, 1932, a daughter of James and Mary Gwara O'Boyle, she was
educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1950 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School.
Mrs. Lanphear had been employed at Berkshire Medical Center for many many years where she was a phlebotomist. She retired in 1970.
She was a communicant of St. Charles Church.
She enjoyed her camping and playing with her Dachshund dogs.
Her husband, Edward S. Lanphear, whom she married June 30, 1951, died October 11, 2006.
Mrs. Lanphear is survived by three daughters, Frances Lontz-Drake and her husband, Cohlin, of
Lanesborough, Deborah Wigglesworth and her husband, Timothy, of Pittsfield, and Sandra Guzman and
her husband, Luis, of Laredo, Texas; a sister, Irene Smead, of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren and seven
great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, James "Speck" O'Boyle.


FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Elizabeth F. Lanphear are private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY
FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
