Obituary for Eleanor G. Blowe

MRS. ELEANOR G. BLOWE, age 77, of 37 Darlene Avenue, Pittsfield, died Thursday, March 6, at Berkshire Medical Center, following a short illness. Born in Pittsfield on August 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John D.
Lynch, Sr., and Veronica Revord Lynch, and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She graduated from the College of New Rochelle (New Rochelle, New York) with a
bachelor's degree in chemistry.
Mrs. Blowe was a teacher and substitute in the Pittsfield Public Schools system.
She was also employed by the former England Brothers department store and by H&R
Block. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and was a member of its
Rosary Sodality. She was also a former member of the Junior League of Berkshire
County. Eleanor had been a member of the Hillcrest and Berkshire Medical Center
Auxiliaries. She was a volunteer in Berkshire Medical Center Radiology and Oncology
Department for eleven years, was an RSVP volunteer at Berkshire Medical Center and at City Hall, and participated in many community drives Eleanor was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank A. Blowe, Sr., whom she married on August 21, 1954. She leaves three sons, Frank A. Blowe, Jr. of Richland,
Washington; J. Christopher Blowe of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, and Charles J. Blowe of
Briarcliff Manor, New York; and two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Finn of Cincinnati,
Ohio, and Catherine M. Hayes of Pittsfield, as well as nine grandchildren. She is also
survived by a sister, Mary V. Ferris of East Falmouth. Eleanor was pre-deceased by
her brother, John D. Lynch, Jr., of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ELEANOR G. BLOWE, will be Monday, March 10, at 9:15
a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.,
at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, Pastor. Calling hours will be
Sunday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in memory of Mrs. Blowe may be made to Sacred Heart Church Memorial Fund or to
Berkshire Medical Center Radiation Oncology Department in care of the Funeral Home,
54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
