Obituary for Elaine E. Wilbur

Elaine E. Wilbur, 79, of 69 Orchard Road, Dalton, a longtime Dalton resident, died
Monday, December 28, 2015, at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on May 30, 1936, the daughter of John and Bessie Buckley Bosma, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She also attended Berkshire Community College.
Mrs. Wilbur was employed by General Electric Company for 37 years where she was a logistics analyst in its Naval Ordnance Systems Division. She retired in 1993.
Mrs. Wilbur was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton where she
was the bookkeeper for ten years, and among other committees, served as a Deaconess
and volunteered with the Green Gargoyle Gift Shop.
Her children and grandchildren brought her great joy, and her grandchildren's school and sporting events brought an added pride.
She also enjoyed flower gardening and yardwork.
Mrs. Wilbur leaves her husband, Richard W. Wilbur Sr., whom she married November 5,
1960.
She is also survived by a daughter, Donna L. Burns of North Grafton, Mass.; a son,
Richard W. Wilbur, Jr., and his wife, Brenda, of Dalton; four sisters, Alice King of Dalton,
Irma Bosma of Dalton, Emily Whitaker of Pittsfield, and June McGroary and her husband, Alan,
of Lanesborough; and five grandchildren, Alison Burns, Matthew Burns, Sarah Robey,
Christopher Wilbur, and Nicholas Wilbur.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, John R. Bosma.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Elaine E. Wilbur will be held Wednesday, December 30, at 1:00 p.m.,
at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery.
Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berkshire Visiting Nurse
Association and Hospice in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
