Obituary for Edwin C. "Butch" Steinman Jr.

Edwin C. "Butch" Steinman, Jr., 76, of 302 West Street, Pittsfield, died Thursday, March 17, 2016, at his home.
Born in Pittsfield on March 23, 1939, the son of Edwin C. Steinman, Sr., and Dorothy
Coty Steinman, he was a 1957 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He enlisted with the United States Navy on June 30, 1958, served aboard the U.S.S. Orion, and was honorably discharged on June 29, 1960.
Mr. Steinman was employed by General Electric Company where he was a tool maker for 33 years retiring in 1994. Prior to G.E., he worked at Eaton Paper Company.
He had coached baseball and basketball, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play
basketball. He also enjoyed horses and his time spent at OTB, especially with his friends; Roberto, Hop and the rest of the crew.
Mr. Steinman's wife, the former Lois Ann Landy, died March 2, 2013.
Mr. Steinman is survived by his daughters, Heidi A. Daley and her husband, Rocky, and
Hollie A. Steinman of Pittsfield; his sons, Todd C. Steinman and his wife, Dina, Brett M.
Steinman and his wife, Shannon, Kipp D. Steinman and his wife, Jennifer, Shane C. Steinman
and his wife, Kristen, and Deane J. Steinman, all of Pittsfield; his sister, Doris LaBlue of North
Carolina; and eighteen grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a son, Scott M. Steinman.
The Steinman family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Hospice Care in the Berkshires for their wonderful care, especially his nurse "Teddy", Tabitha.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Edwin Charles Steinman, Jr., are private. Burial will be in Pittsfield
Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
