Obituary for Edward F. Schilling

Edward Floyd Schilling, 94, of 432 Tyler Street, Pittsfield, died Thursday, November 17, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pittsfield on June 27, 1922, the son of Evi H. and Isabelle Clark Schilling, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Ed worked for 45 years as a tool engineer in the Naval Ordinance Department of General Electric. He retired July 1, 1986.
Ed proudly served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.
Ed was a member of the G.E Quarter Century and G.E. Pensioners Clubs. Ed loved traveling, and has traveled the world; he was always on the go. Ed's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ed was predeceased by his wife; the former Lorraine Mongeon, whom he married August 23, 1943, she died July 31, 1984.
He is survived by two sons; Bruce E. Schilling and his wife Christine of Winter Haven, FL, David M. Schilling and his wife Roxanne of California, three daughters; Kathleen M. Teske of Hadden Heights, N.J., Susan K. Schilling of Egg Harbor, N.J., and Ann M. Schilling of Pittsfield, five grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Ed is also survived by his longtime companion June M. Salvadori.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
A graveside service for Edward Floyd Schilling who died November 17, 2016 will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 11;00 AM in St. Joseph Cemetery. Those planning on attending may meet inside the cemetery gates at 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
