Obituary for Edward F. Sagendorph

Mr. Edward Francis Sagendorph, 92, of 42 Newell Street, Pittsfield, Ma. died Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on December 16, 1913 in Troy, New York a son of the late Herbert and Julia Cripps Sagendorph. He attended schools in Pittsfield.
Mr. Sagendorph was employed for the former A.D. Hull's Garage in Pittsfield for many years as an auto mechanic he retired in 1972. He also for many years was a self employed auto mechanic. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a Boston Red Sox Fan, he enjoyed gardening and fishing and ice fishing of which he won state and world records. He leaves his wife the former Virginia Turoczy whom he married June 10, 1939. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Jean M. Stiffler of Pittsfield, Ma. and Rose J. Baker of Cheshire, Ma. A son, Carl J. Sagendorph of Blackstone, Ma. A Brother, Joseph Sagendorph of Albany, Georgia and Two sisters, Joan Froio of Pittsfield, Ma. and Margaret Reynolds of Richmond, Ma. 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sons Edward Sagendorph in 1941 and Roger Sagendorph in 1995.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Edward F. Sagendorph who died October 21, 2006 will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funereal Home will be Monday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Hospice Care of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mr. Sagendorph is lovingly survived by his nine grandchildren, Terri and Richard Stiffler, Kimberly Lukinsky, Michelle Slonski, Colleen Martin, Roger, Jason, Alexandra and Mellisa Sagendorph and by his 8 great grandchildren, Emiley, Lily, Catie, Molly, Aidon, Brandon, Cameron and Justin. Also survived by devoted daughter in laws, Joan Sagendorph and Marion Messer and by son in laws Doug Stiffler and Butch Baker. He was predeceased by two Brothers Herbert and Alfred Sagendorph and by a sister Gladys Stannel.
