Obituary for Edward Puskey

Edward Puskey, 94 of Pittsfield, passed away March 12, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born on October 9, 1927 in West Warren, MA, the son of Joseph and Sophie (Samek) Puskey. He was a graduate of the former Warren High School where he was class president.

A US Navy veteran, Ed served aboard the USS Little Rock CL-92 and the USS Colonial LSD-18.

He joined the General Electric Company after graduating from Bentley and completed the G.E. Business Training program. Ed worked in the Finance section of the Power Transformer and Ordnance Departments and retired in 1987 with 37 years of service.

He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a retired long time usher at the early Sunday mass.
Ed was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century and Pensioners Club, the former G.E. Stanley Club, and the YMCA fitness center until the age of 85. He later was an early morning walker at the track at Belanger field into his early nineties.

He and his wife, the former Helen G. Mason, were married on September 1, 1951 in St. Aloysius Church in Gilbertville, MA. Ed always felt he was fortunate to have married this beautiful lady with her cheerful disposition and pleasing personality.

Ed is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen; two daughters, Dianne M. Coppola (Tom) of Parkman, ME and Susan Zimmermann (Ron) of Richmond, MA; two sons, Edward J. and Paul F. Puskey of Pittsfield; and two grandsons, Mark M. and Michael L. Puskey of Pittsfield. A son, Mark E. Puskey died in infancy in 1954.

At his request, there will be no formal services. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Berkshire Family YMCA in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
