Obituary for Edna G. Coty

EDNA GERTRUDE COTY, 93, formerly of Providence Court, 379 East Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday, February 24, at Springside of Pittsfield where she had resided the past two years.
Born in Great Barrington, February 26, 1914, a daughter of Andrew and Grace
Belknap Mead, she attended schools in New Marlborough, was a 1932 graduate of the
former New Marlborough High School and the former Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Coty was employed as a records clerk for Berkshire Mutual Insurance
Company where she worked eleven years retiring in 1977. She was a former member of the Women's Club and a member of AARP. She
enjoyed traveling. Her husband, Harold J. Coty, Sr., whom she married March 31, 1934, in Great
Barrington, died April 16, 1972.
Mrs. Coty is survived by two sons, Harold J. Coty, Jr. of Swanzey, New Hampshire and Charles H. Coty of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by three brothers, four sisters,
and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Coty.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for EDNA GERTRUDE COTY will be Saturday, March 1, at
11:30 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Dr. Peter D. Boehringer, Pastor of
Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield
Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Coty may be made to HospiceCare in
The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
