Obituary for Edith R. Lahart
EDITH ROSEMARY LAHART, 85, formerly of Bay State Road, Pittsfield, died
Monday evening at Hillcrest Commons where she had resided since December 2006.
Prior to moving to Pittsfield in 1989, she had she had lived in Santa Anna, California for
many years.
Born in New Rochelle, New York, November19,1922, the daughter of Lorillard and Alice Vera Card Wise, she was a graduate of New Rochelle High School. She earned an associates degree from C.C.L.V. Nevada and attended the University of
Las Vagas. A World War II veteran, she served with the United States Marine Corps in Air
Engineering Squadron 41.
Mrs. Lahart was employed as a home health care aide in New Rochelle nursing
Homes. While in Santa Anna, she had been a private duty caregiver for a family for
many years.
She enjoyed writing poetry.
Mrs. Lahart is survived by two sons, Kenneth L. Lahart in Pittsfield and John D.
Lahart of New York City; a brother, Edward Wise of Florida, and two
grandsons.
