Obituary for Earl C. Astbury

Earl C. Astbury is finally at peace after his long, hard fight with cancer, and rejoins his wife and love Ann who pre-deceased him on January 28, 2012. Earl's final days were comforted by his son Carl and the endless devoted care of his loving daughter Leslie and husband Nelson who were always there for him.
Born Earl Calvin Astbury to Earl A. Astbury and Della Dunbar Astbury Mayo, Earl was raised in Hartford, VT and attended Hartford High School. Fond memories included going dandelion picking with his Aunt Mabel and family and spending time with his favorite cousins Linda Dunbar and her brothers.
Married to Ann L. Astbury on September 27, 1968, Earl became an instant father to Ann's five children, Jean, Carl, Leslie, Adam & Gabrielle. A man of few words but strong resolve, Earl worked hard and was devoted to providing for family at all times. His closest friends were from Schweitzer-Maudiut (formerly Kimberly-Clark) where Earl worked a dedicated 36 years retiring in 2006 to take care of his ailing wife.
Earl's passions included his love of hunting, bowling, NASCAR, and the Green Bay Packers, but most Important was his love for his grandson, Joseph Daley whom he watched grow from baby to young man and whom he loved to watch race motocross rooting Joseph on.
Earl leaves behind his stepchildren, Jean-Paul Becker, Carl A. Becker, Leslie A. (Trachier) Daley and husband Nelson Daley, Adam Trachier and wife Lisa, and M. Gabrielle (Webb) Kuehl, his grandchildren, Rachael (Daley) Otto, Joseph Daley and Shelby Love, Nicholas M. Becker, Tiffany Kuehl, Cassidy Kuehl, and Chelsea Kuehl, and great grandchildren S. Connor Otto and Dominic Sarno. His sister Jannette (Astbury) Dunbar and husband Francis, niece Danielle (Dunbar) Cameron and husband James, and his favorite people his cousins Linda (Dunbar) (Raymond) Hurd and husband Norman.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, June 19, from: 4:00–6:00 p.m.,
at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield where we will honor Earl and Ann.
A small celebration of life will take place in the very near future.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
