Obituary for Dorothy T. LeFebvre

DOROTHY T. LeFEBVRE, 78, of 204 Church Street, Cheshire, died Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Ann M. Ross, in Averill Park, New York, where she had resided the past three weeks.
Born in Adams, July 16, 1928, a daughter of Albert and Mary Beaubien Gregoire, she attended Adams schools and was a 1946 graduate of Adams High School. Mrs. LeFebvre served as the Clerk to the Assessors for the Town of Cheshire
from 1974 to 2004, and was a member of the Massachusetts Association of Assessing
Officers of which she was the recipient of the Lucille Bayes Clerk of the Year Award in
2001. She also served as Assistant Town Clerk, and worked the election polls for many
years. She had been a substitute teacher in the Cheshire School System and in the
Hancock School System. She had also worked in the office of the Berkshire County 4-H
Extension Service and had served as a 4-H leader and judge at local fairs.
Mrs. LeFebvre was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church where she was a CCD teacher for twenty-five years for which she was a recipient of the St. Pius X Religious Education Award. She was also a recipient of the Women of the Year Award at St. Mary Church.
She was very active on the Allocating Committee for the Northern Berkshire United Way.
She enjoyed traveling to Maine and to Florida, and also enjoyed sewing, cooking,
and flower gardening.Her husband, Harold D. LeFebvre, whom she married April 14, 1951, at Notre Dame Church in Adams, died February 25, 1976.Mrs. LeFebvre is survived by a son, Peter G. LeFebvre of Cheshire; three
daughters, Janet H. Madill of Miami, Florida, Ann M. Ross of Averill Park, New York,
and Susan L. Reardon of Cheshire; a brother, Francis Gregoire of Bradenton, Florida; a
sister, Rose Belisle of Adams; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Albert Gregoire, two sisters, Helen Lord and
Rita Lilienthal, and longtime companion, Walter Estes.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for DOROTHY T. LeFEBVRE, who died
Thursday, January 11, will be held Monday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary of the
Assumption Church, celebrated by Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will follow in
Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the DERY-
CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs.
LeFebvre may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, the Alzheimer's
Association, or to the Walter Estes Scholarship Fund in care of the Funeral Home, P.O.
Box 445, Cheshire.Mrs. LeFebvre also leaves her daughter-in-law, Carol LeFebvre, three sons-in-
law, Frederick Madill, Rick Ross, and Thomas Reardon; her thirteen grandchildren,
Diane Chafin, Kelly Madill, Robert Madill, Jeremy LeFebvre, Nicholas LeFebvre,
Shauna Lynn LeFebvre, Erik Ross, David Ross, Gregory Ross, Stefanie Ross, Sarah
Reardon, Brian Reardon, and Kate Reardon; two great grandchildren, Zachary Madill-
Arana and Ian Chafin; two cousins, Patricia Boisvert and Edward LeFebvre, and longtime
extended family member, Leonard Conlan of Switzerland.
