Obituary for Dorothy Marie "Duffy" Gaudette
Dorothy Marie “Duffy” Gaudette, 81, of Richardson Street, Pittsfield, formerly of 88 Lyman Street, Pittsfield, died Thursday, September 23, at her home.
Born in Great Barrington on September 12, 1940, the daughter of James and Alice Mosely Spadaccini, she was educated in Sheffield schools and was a graduate of Mount Everett High School.
Mrs. Gaudette was a homemaker. She had been employed by Berkshire Cooperative in Great Barrington and later by Becton and Dickerson in Canaan, Connecticut.
Duffy enjoyed baking and cooking, and being with her grandchildren.
Her husband, John Joseph Gaudette, Jr., whom she married October 25, 1969, in Lee, died June 2, 2010.
Mrs. Gaudette is survived by two sons, Scott A. Gaudette and Craig H. Gaudette, both of Maine; three daughters, Melinda (husband Richard) Trudeau of Dalton, Carrie M. (husband David) Dunn of Pittsfield, and Kimberley A. VanHoesan of Pittsfield; a brother, James Spadaccini of Lake Wales, Florida; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a son, John J. Gaudette, who died earlier this month; a grandson, Jeremy Gaudette; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth (Mrs. Scott) Gaudette; and her sister, Elaine Stalker.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Dorothy M. Gaudette will be held Monday, September 27, at 11:30 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Quentin Chin, Chaplain with HospiceCare in The
Berkshires, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
