Obituary for Doris Russell

DORIS RUTH RUSSELL, 92, formerly of Rose Manor, died Sunday night at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided at Springside of Pittsfield for the past five months. Born in Pittsfield, December 24, 1914, a daughter of Joseph A. and Elizabeth J. Gilbert Halley, she attended Pittsfield schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Russell had been employed as a weaver for the former Berkshire Woolen Mill from where she retired in 1955 with 28 years service.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed walking. Her husband, George F. Russell, whom she married in November 1933, died
September 14, 1988. Mrs. Russell is survived by two daughters, Dorean E.M. Russell
of Westborough, Massachusetts, and Terry R. Gaspar of Warwick, Rhode Island; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for DORIS RUTH RUSSELL, who died Sunday, April 29, will be Wednesday, May 2, at 12:15 p.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Russell may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mrs. Russell is also survived by nieces, Diane Luhrmann and Linda Liccardi,
and two nephews, Richard Halley and David Halley. She was pre-deceased by two
grandsons, George Gaspar and Kris Gaspar; two granddaughters, Dawn Russell Bowman
and Tierney R. Gaspar; two brothers, Walter Halley and Harold Halley, and two sisters,
Mae Farrell and Mildred Holt.
