Obituary for Doris S. Messana

Doris Sue Buckalew Messana, known to those close to her as Sue, was born June 1,
1924, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the oldest of three girls, to Edna (James) and Walter Bucklaew.
She attended schools in Arkansas and Louisiana and graduated from Neville High School in
Monroe, Louisiana on June 3, 1943.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Messana had worked outside the home, as well, most recently as a switchboard operator at the former St. Luke's Hospital in Pittsfield.
She enjoyed camping in Rhode Island, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, Anthony C. Messana, whom she married February 14, 1946, died February
14, 1990.
Mrs. Messana leaves her loving son, Mark Messana, of Lanesboro, her two grand- children, Kari Messana of Pittsfield and Jena Messana of Lanesboro, and many extended family members.
She was pre-deceased by two sons, Robert A. Messana who died in 1952 and Anthony
C. Messana who died in 1961, and two sisters, Margie and Marie.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Doris Sue Buckalew Messana will be private. There are no calling
hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street.
