Obituary for Doris M. Depew

Mrs. Doris M. Depew, 100, formerly of Rose Manor Apts. Pittsfield, Ma. died Monday, July 3, 2006 at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility where she has resided since May 14, 1999. Born on May 26, 1906 in Pittsfield a daughter of the late Frank W. and Bertha E. MacAnanny Gerst. She attended schools in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had been employed as a telephone operator for many years at New England Telephone Company, she retired many years ago. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was the wife of Francis W. Depew whom she married January 1, 1931; he died March 25, 1974. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Ann Roberge of Shrewsbury, Ma. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Doris M. Depew who died July 3, 2006 will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pittsfield Cemetery, with the Rev. William D. Furey, officiating. Those who plan to attend may meet within the cemetery gate at 10:45 a.m. There are no calling hours. Dery Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Depew is lovingly survived by her grandchildren Debra L. and Paul M. Roberge and by great grandchildren, Jacquelyn Y. and Francine J. Roberge. She was predeceased by two brothers, Earl C. and Howard F. Gerst and by her sister Carolyn E. Gerst Munn.
