Obituary for Dorine Galliher

Dorine Marie Galliher affectionately nicknamed “Ding” of Hinsdale, passed away peacefully at home Saturday April 2, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.

Born on September 12th, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Dina Volonghe Chiaretto.

A graduate of Dalton High School. She attended B.C.C. and graduated from Berkshire Business School.

Dorine Worked over 35 years as an expeditor and program coordinator with General Electric, Martin Marietta, retiring from General Dynamics. Dorine also worked in the traffic division of the Pittsfield Police Department in the mid 70’s.

While her most favorite past time was shopping, she enjoyed cooking, and a good crossword puzzle.
She is survived by her loving companion and long-time partner Wayne H. Walton with whom she resided. Daughter, Nancy Rheaume Smith and son- in-law Brian of Hinsdale.

Granddaughter, Emily B. Petersen and her husband Tom, Great Granddaughter McLean Rhea Petersen, all of Davidson NC.

Brothers, Terence (Pep) Chiaretto and wife Kathy of Pittsfield MA, and Carl A. Chiaretto and spouse John of Medford MA.

In addition, Dorine also leaves many extended members of the Chiaretto, Smith, and Walton Families.

A heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at HospiceCare in the Berkshires, BMC, and The Hillcrest Cancer Center for providing dignity, compassion, so much help, and exemplary care during her illness.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, WEDNESDAY, April 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. There will be no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to either The Berkshire Humane Society or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main St. Dalton, MA 01226
