Obituary for Donald F. Murphy
Donald Francis Murphy, 82 of Pittsfield, passed away January 16, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in North Adams, MA on February 3, 1939, he was the son of Blanche Brazeau Murphy and William Murphy, Sr.
Donald was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and a United States Army Veteran.
He married the former Carolyn Eleanor Wilcox on June 4, 1958. She predeceased him on November 7, 2015.
Mr. Murphy was an assembler at General Electric in the Transformer Department for 37 years.
He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting and was a communicant of the former St. Teresa’s Church.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his son, Glenn M. Murphy and wife Donna of Pittsfield; brother, William Murphy, Jr., of Virginia; granddaughter, Samantha Murphy; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Murphy; granddaughter, Crystal Murphy; and a brother Lawrence Murphy.
Funeral services will be private in the Spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
