Obituary for Donald Macwhinnie

Donald "Mac" MacWhinnie, 69, of 476 Fenn Street, Pittsfield, Ma. died Tuesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on May 23, 1937 in Pittsfield, Ma. a son of Harry and Evelyn Proctor MacWhinnie. He attended schools in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mr. MacWhinnie was employed for American Linen of Pittsfield for 40 years retiring in 1991 as a route salesman. He was a fifty year member of the Polish Falcons Club of Pittsfield where he held various positions over the years such as past president, bar manager and bookkeeper. He enjoyed Horse Racing, Baseball and Football. He leaves two daughters, Bonnie S. Masefield of Pittsfield, Ma. and Sandra A. Delphia of Munson, Ma. Two Brothers, Richard A. MacWhinnie of Lenox, Ma. and Gerald A. MacWhinnie of Pittsfield, Ma. A Sister, June Gibbons of Lenox, Ma. Four Grandchildren. Also survived by his longtime companion of 25 years with whom he resided Carol M. Bradley of Pittsfield. Also survived by his Step Mother, Norma Brown MacWhinnie of Lenox, MA.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Donald "Mac" MacWhinnie who died Nov. 14, 2006 will be held Friday evening at 7:15 P.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. with the Rev. William D. Furey, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service on Friday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home. Mr. MacWhinnie is lovingly survived by his four grandchildren, R.J. Masefield, Adam Masefield, Shane Smith and Scott Smith, Jr. Also by his beloved extended family Eliott, Christine and Scott Bradley, and son in law, Steven Delphia. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry E. MacWhinnie and by his beloved companion's daughter Felica Bradley Condon.
