Obituary for Donald L. Gagnon

DONALD LEO GAGNON, 81, of Kimball Farms, Lenox, formerly of Fort Hill Avenue, Pittsfield, died Monday, May 31, surrounded by his family, at Berkshire Medical Center, having lost his courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on May 14, 1929, a son of Leo R. and Blanche A. Laurin Gagnon, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He later entered the General Electric drafting apprentice program.
Mr. Gagnon was employed by General Electric Company where he was a draftsman for more than 40 years. After G.E. purchased Westinghouse, he worked as their consultant in Muncie, Indiana.
Mr. Gagnon was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church where he was very active in Church affairs. Most recently, he was a communicant of St. Ann Church in Lenox.
He was active in publishing the Kimball Farms newsletter. He enjoyed
traveling, gardening, reading, photography, painting, and dancing; and contributed articles about his hobbies for the newsletters. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Gagnon leaves his wife, the former Shirley Bourdon, whom he married September 5, 1953, in Notre Dame Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Donna Gagnon of Watertown,
Connecticut, Laura Gagnon Woodford and her husband, Scott, of Westbrook, Connecticut, and Teresa Webber and her husband, David, of Ellington, Connecticut; two
brothers, Richard Gagnon of Glastonbury, Connecticut, and Lawrence Gagnon of Roswell, George; five grandchildren, Ryan, Audrey, Evan, Eric, and Haley; as well as
his sister-in-law, Sister Norma Bourdon of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit in Putnam,
Connecticut.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for DONALD LEO GAGNON will be Saturday, June 5, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr.
Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr.
Gagnon may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer
Society both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
