Obituary for Donald D. Cowell, Sr.
Donald Cowell, Sr., 79 of Pittsfield, passed away February 2, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Lee, MA on December 18, 1942 to Rueben C. and Emma Armstrong Cowell. He was educated in Lee Schools. Mr. Cowell married Linda A. Klahn on June 25, 1966. He was employed in the transformer department for General Electric for over 25 years, as a fabricator. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Cowell, he is survived by his four children, Tracy M. Cowell and fiancé Brad Olson of Olathe, KS, Michelle L. Babcock and husband Clayton of Buskirk, NY, Donald D. Cowell, Jr., and wife Karen of Pittsfield, and Benjamin J. Cowell and partner Sandra Whitmire of Pittsfield. Four grandchildren Ariana, Baylee, Trevor, and Kendall, and one great-grandson, Alessandro. Two sisters, Mary Cowell of Pittsfield and Patricia Jones of Middlefield, and brother Ronald “Bucky” Cowell. He was predeceased by his siblings, Barbara Mottor, Clarence E. Cowell, and Linda L. Cowell.
Funeral Notice: Calling hours will be held on Saturday February 12, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA. A Funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor Emeritus of St. Charles Church. Following the service, friends and family will join for a pot-luck at the Italian American Club on Newell Street in Pittsfield.
