Obituary for Dianne L. Mermet

Dianne Louise Mermet, 69 years old, passed away July 2, 2021. She was born in Pittsfield on October 25, 1951. She had resided at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield for the past four years.

She is the daughter of the late Louis Mermet and the late Louise (Carrado) Mermet.

She was a graduate of Taconic High School. After graduation she worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. She then was a homemaker prior to her admission to Hillcrest Commons.

Dianne was an avid Pokeno and poker player. Her favorite past-time of all was Bingo. She was a “social butterfly” at the nursing home and made many friends while residing there, her dearest friend being Marion. She loved to participate in all social activities the nursing home had to offer but her greatest joy was her weekly visits with her sister Barbara, her primary caregiver, who will miss her dearly.

Dianne leaves behind her only son, Patrick Nicola and his wife Kristie of Hillsville, VA. Patrick’s children, her grandchildren; Jacob, Levi, Haleigh, and Alyssa.

Her sister Barbara (Mermet) Larese and her fiancé Michael Powers of Adams. Her nieces, Sandra (Larese) Hartman and her husband Thomas of Adams and Michelle (Larese) Rhodes of Syracuse, NY.
Her grand-nieces, Megan Kolis and her fiancé Taylor Hauck of West Haven, CT and Micayla Kolis of Guilderland, NY. She also leaves behind many cousins and her dear friends at the nursing home.

She is predeceased by her father Louis Mermet and her mother, Louise (Carrado) Mermet, along with many aunts and uncles.

We would like to thank all her nurses, especially her primary nurse, Renold; all the nurse’s aides and the administrative staff at Hillcrest Commons, who took such good care of her over the past four years.

Funeral Notice: A memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
