Obituary for David A. O'Connor

David A. O'Connor, 66, of 99 Sherwood Drive, Pittsfield, died Saturday,
April 13, 2013, at his home.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 4, 1946, the son of the late David A. and Anna Mary Weisbecker O'Connor, he was a 1964 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and a 1971 graduate of R.I.T. with a degree in electrical engineering.
At the time of his death, Mr. O'Connor was an electrical engineer, beginning with General Electric Company and for its successor, General Dynamics, for a combined service of forty five years.
He was a communicant of St. Mark Church where he was a volunteer for the
church's Meals on Wheels Program.
Mr. O'Connor was a longtime member of Town Players of Pittsfield. He was also a member of the Pittsfield International Folk Dancers which performed at area festivals and ethnic fairs. He ushered at Tanglewood for thirty years, at the Williamstown Theater Festival, and at the Colonial Theater.
He enjoyed skiing and was a member of the Mogul Masters. He also participated in the Josh Billings Run Aground. He was an avid supporter of the Pittsfield Figure
Skating Club and enjoyed "cars" and traveling.
Mr. O'Connor leaves his wife, the former Kristin Bogner, whom he married April
21, 1990, in Belle Nead, New Jersey; a daughter, Alice O'Connor, of Pittsfield; and a
sister, Dr. Nancy Kathleen O'Connor and her husband, Dr. Alfredo Reyes, of the
Philippines.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for David A. O'Connor will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of David may be made to the Town of Players or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford
Street, Pittsfield.
