Obituary for David P. McLaughlin

David P. McLaughlin, 66, of 33 Harold St., in Pittsfield died Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on August 17, 1949, a son of the late Daniel F. and Marguerite A. (Butler) McLaughlin. He was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1968 graduate of St. Josephs High School and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
A longtime firefighter, David retired in 2008 with 28 years of service with the Pittsfield Fire Department. During his 28 years, he had been stationed extensively at both Engine 6 and Engine 2. He was a proud member of the Pittsfield Fire Fighter 's Association.
David was an avid sports fan; his favorite teams included the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He enjoyed lifting weights and exercising and had an extensive personal knife collection. David was an animal lover, and enjoyed his dogs; Biscuit, Rex and Killian, very much.
He leaves his life partner, Heidi Eulian of Pittsfield; two step-daughters; Heather M. Eulian of Sunderland, MA; Christen E. Eulian of Green Bay, WI; Three Sisters; Ann C. Jadatz of Dalton, MA, Christina Rose of Amherst, MA, Marie C. Trapani and her husband Mario of Pittsfield, Three Brothers; Michael J. McLaughlin and his companion Debbie Fields of Pittsfield, his twin brother Daniel P. McLaughlin of Pittsfield and Timothy J. McLaughlin of Quincy, MA. David is also survived by many nieces and nephews.



FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services and burial for David P. McLaughlin. who died January 11, 2016 will be Saturday January 16th beginning at 10a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Calling hours will be Friday Evening from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsfield Fire Fighter's Association in care of the funeral home.
