Obituary for David M. Connors

Mr. David Michael Connors, 62, of 10336 Rio De Thule Lane, Las Vegas, Nevada died Tuesday at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas due to a brain aneurysm. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada for the past two years, moving from Rockville, Maryland where he resided for 19 years. He was a longtime former Pittsfield, Ma. resident. Born on September 14, 1943 in Pittsfield, Ma. a son of the late Harold R. and Dorothy M. O'Boyle Connors. He attended schools in Pittsfield and was a 1961 graduate of Saint Joseph's Central High School. He was a 1965 graduate of the University of Massachusetts graduating with a civil engineering degree. He was a 1967 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduating with masters in civil engineering. Mr. Connors was a senior associate with URS Woodward Clyde Consultants, a nationwide firm for 34 years retiring in 2003. While with the company he was a senior field engineer, section one of the Trans Alaska Pipe Line and established the Solon Ohio WCC office and later establishing the federal government division of WCC in Rockville, Maryland. Most recently he had consulted for FEMA on major disasters including the 9/11 disaster. While in Pittsfield he was a communicant of Saint Mark's Church, where he served as an altar boy as a youngster. While in Las Vegas he was a communicant of Guardian Angel Cathedral. He enjoyed Boogie Boarding, bicycle riding, playing bocce and bridge. He is survived by his wife the former Celia P. Ziemak whom he married on June 10, 1967 at Saint Francis Xavier Church in Pittsfield. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Matthew D. Connors of Bethesda, Maryland. Two daughters, Stacy M. Horner of Salt Lake City, Utah and Rebecca A. Bouck of Phoenix, Arizona. Two Brothers, Robert A. Connors of Pittsfield, Ma. and Harold "Chip" Connors of Marlborough, Ma. A sister, Patricia A. Connors of Pittsfield, Ma. Also by one grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for David M. Connors will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Marks Church, celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be Sunday from 2 to 4 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home. Mr. Connors is lovingly survived by his grandson, Logan Horner and by two sons in law, Jason Horner and Travis Bouck.
