Obituary for David E. Clancy

David E. Clancy, 78, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family at Hillcrest Commons
Born in Pittsfield on July 5, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Anna Burke Clancy, he was educated in local schools.
A heavy equipment operator for more than 25 years, Mr. Clancy was first employed by Donovan Construction Company, Petricca Industries, Inc., and lastly for Maximilian Construction. He was also a member of Local 98 Operating Engineers. He was known as being charismatic and having a great sense of humor.
He especially enjoyed building model railroad and restoring lawnmowers. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
He leaves his wife, the former Maria Carnevale whom he married August 27, 1960, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He's also survived by three daughters, Teresa Clancy (former husband Ralph Fontaine) and their children Dell and Kristen, Tamara (Paul) Guillou and their son Cameron, Christine (Bruce) Lambert and their sons Myles and Nicholas, and a son, David Clancy, his sister, Joanne (Edward) Cole of West Virginia, his sisters-in-law Jeanne Clancy and Philomena Carnevale, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Clancy, Jr., his sister, Elizabeth Gagnon, and her partner T. James Winestock, his brother-in-law Angelo Carnevale, and his daughter Teresa's partner, Richard Bruno.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for David E. Clancy will be held Monday, August 29, at 9:15 AM at DERY FUNERAL HOME with a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph church celebrated by Rev. Msgr Michael A Shershanovich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
