Obituary for Darryl G. Hertzberg

DARRYL G. HERTZBERG, 44, of 21 Morgan Street, Pittsfield, died
Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield, May 12, 1964, the son of Vera L. Owings Hertzberg of Windsor and the
late Eldon A. Hertzberg, he was educated in Dalton schools and attended Wahconah Regional High School. He received his General Equivalency Diploma in 1982.
At the time of his death, Mr. Hertzberg was employed as a truck driver for Chris Williams Excavation in Stockbridge where he had worked for the past five years. He had previously worked as a truck driver for BFI for many years.
He was an avid Red Sox fan who also enjoyed fishing and boating. He was very
proud of his home and enjoyed working around his yard. He had a great sense of humor and quite an ability to make people laugh.
Mr. Hertzberg leaves his wife, the former Dawn M. Kotski, whom he married
August 21, 2003. Besides his wife and his mother, he leaves a daughter, Amber R. Hertzberg of Pittsfield; his brother, Bruce A. Hertzberg of Syracuse, New York; a half sister, Ashley
Decatur of Bay City, Michigan; his brother-in-law, Stephen Kotski of Pittsfield; and his
nieces and nephews, Aiden, Gabriel, and Alivya.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for DARRYL G. HERTZBERG, who died June 8, 2008.
will be Thursday, June 12, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy
of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael
A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours
will be Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mr. Hertzberg may be made to St. Joseph Church Food
Pantry in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
