Obituary for Daniel J. Maloy

DANIEL J. MALOY, JR., 61, of West Housatonic Street, Pittsfield, died Friday,
at Berkshire Medical Center. He had resided at Hillcrest Commons since December.
Born in Pittsfield, August 16, 1945, a son of Pauline Tappin Maloy and the late Daniel J. Maloy, Sr., he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School.Mr. Maloy had been employed by the The Berkshire Eagle as a composer until retiring in 2004 due to ill health.
He enjoyed sports and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides his mother of Pittsfield, Mr. Maloy is survived by two daughters, Tina
Stogner and Colleen Thomas, both of Tuscon, Arizona; a son, Eric Molleur of Pittsfield;
four brothers, William Maloy of Wesborough, Massachusetts, James Maloy of Pittsfield;
Paul L. "Mike" Maloy of Lanesborough, and David Maloy of Pittsfield; and four
grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: DANIEL J. MALLOY, JR., 61, of Pittsfield, died March 16, 2007. At his
request, there are no calling hours. A memorial service, with burial, will take place at a
later date in Arizona. Contributions in memory of Dan may be made to the Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Maloy is also survived by his four grandchildren, Lindsey and Nicholas
Stogner and Samantha and Emma Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his three sisters-in-law, Sharon Maloy, Linda Maloy and Sharon Maloy.
