Obituary for Daniel "Bopper" Hamling

Daniel "Bopper" Hamling, 63, of 182 Bridges Road, Williamstown, MA died unexpectedly Friday December 4, 2015 at the Satellite Emergency Room at Berkshire Medical Center in North Adams, MA.
Born on February 26, 1952 in Pittsfield a son of the late Alfred J. and Alice M. Ochs Hamling. He was a 1971 graduate of Taconic High School. He had been employed for the General Electric Company in both Pittsfield, MA and Schenectady, NY for over 40 years, retiring as a laborer in 2012.
Daniel was an avid New York Yankees Fan, he enjoyed watching and playing basketball, fishing and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife the former Robin A. Duncan whom he married October 17, 1998. Besides his wife he leaves a step-daughter Kristen Racette and her children Hannah and Leandra Jones of Adams. A step-son, Michael Racette of Las Vegas, Nevada. Brother, John A. Hamling and his wife Cathy and their children Sara and Kyla of Benicia, California. Sister, Judith A. Chenail and her husband Robert J. of Pittsfield and their children, Michael and Amy Chenail of New Jersey, Michelle and David Henderson of Pittsfield, Marc and Jennifer Chenail of Pittsfield, Matthew and Kelly Chenail of Connecticut, grand nieces and nephews. Sister, Jane and Peter Provenzano of Canaan, NY and children, Jackie and Chris Arnold of Savoy. Brother, Joseph C. Hamling of Pittsfield and Sister, Patricia Watroba of Pittsfield and children Nicholas Watroba and Jaclyn Ricci and her husband Nick all of Pittsfield.
Upon his sudden passing it was important for Daniel's family to acknowledge that he was an organ donor and was able to give the gift of life to numerous people.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory pastor of St. Charles Church officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials in his memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
