Obituary for Daniel A. Bolognia Sr.

Daniel A. Bolognia, Sr., 83, of Country Road, Hinsdale, died Thursday, October 29, 2015, at
Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on September 15, 1932, the son of Louis S. and Mary DiTulio Bolognia,
he was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Korean War veteran, he served as a Private First Class (Technical) from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Bolognia owned and operated Dan Bo Mold & Tool in Lanesborough from 1965 until his retirement.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Bolognia fished at Onota Lake and on his boat at Cape Cod. He
trained and hunted birds with his English Pointers. He snowmobiled, carved water foul, and built
and flew model airplanes.
In the last five years of his life, he took up the button box accordion and taught himself to
play. He spent the last twenty years wintering in Florida.
Mr. Bolognia leaves his wife, the former Thelma Paris, who were wed November 24, 1956.
He is also survived by a daughter, Marie Greenleaf and her husband, Steve; three sons, Daniel, Jr., and his wife, Libby, David and his wife, Karen, and Anthony and his wife, Lisa; eight grandchildren
and three great grandchildren; a brother, Louis Bolognia; three sisters, Maryann DiCroce, Barbara Wanat, and Donna Biladeau.
Mr. Bolognia was pre-deceased by his parents, brother Anthony, and sister Carolyn
Ackerson.
We wish to thank everyone in the ICU and 4 West Telemetry Unit at Berkshire Medical Center
for their wonderful and compassionate care of our Daniel. We will all miss him.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Memorial Service for Daniel A. Bolognia, Sr., will be held Thursday, November 5, at 11:30 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield. The Bolognia family will be receiving friends and family from 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hinsdale Vol. Fire Dept. in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
