Obituary for Dale S. French

Dale Sheldon French, 66, of 107 Deming Street, Pittsfield, a resident of Lanesborough for most of his life, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Dalton on September 5, 1950, son of the late Louis and Gloria J. Lahti French, he was educated in Dalton schools and was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
Mr. French was employed at Crane & Company, Inc., where he was a beater engineer. He retired in 2009 with 37 years' service.
He had been a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church.
Spending time with his family was his greatest pleasure. He also enjoyed woodworking and making models, antique cars and going to car shows, and traveling, especially to Cape Cod
and Vermont. Mr. French leaves his wife, the former, Michelle Rose Pensivy, whom he married
November 12, 2011.
He is also survived by a son, Eric French of Pittsfield; four daughters, Stacy Roosa and
her companion, Jessie of California, Kari French-Proskin of Pittsfield, Shirley Harper and her husband, Brian, of Orem, Utah, and Deanna Crosier of Pittsfield; two brothers, Charles French of California, and
Burt French of Chatham, N.Y.; three sisters, Jean Corbett and her husband, Dave, of Pittsfield,
Nancy Belanger of Pittsfield, and Sue Hebert and her husband, Joseph, of Texas; four grand-children, Bailey, Tessa, Kalie, and Gracie; eleven nieces and nephews, and his brother-in-law, William Pensivy, of Pittsfield.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Christine Burnick French, who died in 2009, as well as a sister, Rosemary French.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for Dale Sheldon French will be held Friday, April 14, from 5:00 to 7:00
p.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. Burial will be in Main Street Cemetery in Dalton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane
Society or to Dery Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses, both in care of DERY
FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
